The AGM is a great way to get to know other people in the downtown business community and keep informed on the activities of the Downtown Kingston BIA. It's also a great way to be involved in the future of our great downtown as members will have the opportunity to elect up to 15 member representatives to serve on the Downtown Kingston BIA Board of Management for the next 4 years.. We hope to see you.
We are looking for member engagement on Initiative 20: Create and animate downtown pedestrian-only zones included in the Integrated Destination Strategy 2022-2027, The initiative was presented by Tourism Kingston and endorsed by Council.
Join us as we explore an activation/animation plan for pedestrian and active transportation community spaces in Downtown Kingston, including car-free zones.
Beginning on Monday, November 21, when customers make a purchase of $10 or more at participating businesses, they'll receive a sticker for their Passport.
5 stickers complete their Passport and make them eligible for draws for Downtown Dollars! Sign up your business to participate:
Champions for Change is open to business owners, employees and residents in the downtown core that want to work together to make the streets of downtown Kingston safe, secure and welcoming, while addressing current challenges with street-involved individuals battling mental health issues and addictions.

We are excited to offer free courtesy carts to interested businesses through our partnership with VOOMcart. Offer your customers or visitors a courtesy VOOMcart to use while shopping in-store, or to borrow, to transport their shopping home.
We have been notified recently that some of our emails have been compromised. We have done everything we can on our end to mitigate this. If you receive an email from any of the BIA Staff that looks suspicious and has links, please do not open it unless it is safe to do so. If you are unsure, call the office.
Ways to tell an email is unsafe:
Receiving Email Address
This is the quickest and easiest way to tell if it is sent from a spam account. Their signature and subject line may say they are from the BIA and may have our first and last name but if you look at the receiving email address it should always end in @downtownkingston.ca if it is coming from the BIA office. If not, do not trust any link that is sent unless told otherwise.
Spelling errors
(we all get these from time to time but in a spam email they are obvious) They will sometimes spell words with additional letters, punctuation, short forms (“u” instead of “you”) and excessive use of emojis.
BIA Staff
Most of our spam mail is said to be coming from previous employee accounts. If you are unsure of an email that has been sent by a BIA Staff Member, you can always refer to our ‘meet the team’ webpage to see who is currently employed at the BIA. These are the only active staff members that will be sending emails.
