 Candidate Profile

With myself and my family all being born and raised in Kingston, we are Kingstonians first while developing a reputable and respected company through not only our words but our actions. As an owner and developer in the downtown area of retail, office and residential, I can provide a balanced perspective focused on the success of businesses, owners & residents.

I think it is essential to have a balance of walkability and providing accessibility for those with vehicles. We need to make it accessible and easy for downtown residents/visitors to move around while allowing ample opportunity for general residents/visitors to come downtown. We should highlight the benefits of public transit and cost savings as well as look at increasing infill parking on the outer downtown. In order to ensure walkability, people must feel safe and secure. This should be a high priority; we have unfortunately had numerous incidents downtown due to the increasing homeless issues which we have major concerns of it discouraging people from enjoying the downtown area.

One of the foundational building blocks that I believe the board can agree on regarding downtown, is that a clean and safe environment is essential for everyone to enjoy the downtown area and all that it has to offer such as shops, restaurants, parks, and yearly events. My focus while being on the board would be to ensure a clean and safe environment.

If I were elected to the board, my goal in the next 4 years would be to make sure the downtown stays a pivotal destination for both tourists and residents. As someone born at KGH who grew up in Kingston, the downtown has some of my fondest memories. I want to ensure the downtown can be enjoyed safely by anyone, especially young families. I would be honoured to be involved in keeping the downtown a hallmark of Kingston while promoting success for businesses that are the backbone of our lovely City.
