My work at Chez Piggy and Pan Chancho for the past 41 years (and running) runs parallel to the growth and development of downtown Kingston. I continue to be a strong supporter of new and emerging opportunities that are forward-thinking. I am aware of and engaged in the challenges that the downtown community and city are faced with. As a long-standing Downtown Kingston BIA Board member and current Treasurer, I have a solid grasp of how Downtown Kingston achieves its successes and confronts its challenges. I look forward to being part of a board that will bring ideas forward for consideration, that will continue to see our downtown be the cultural and economic success that it is, while at the same time engaging the resources of Downtown Kingston in working with others to deal with the large societal issues affecting so many today. I have worked and lived in the downtown Kingston experience for most of my adult life. Raising a family in the Skeleton Park neighbourhood since 1984, I have been an engaged observer and participant in the gradual changes that have made the downtown and surrounding neighbourhoods what they are today. I am acutely aware of our past, present, and many challenges and am hoping to continue to be engaged in searching for ways to grow the strength of downtown for all of us.
