Candidate Profile
When I first arrived in Kingston to study at Queen's University, there were few places for me to buy cool stationery and small gifts. While travelling in Asia, it became clear that the best of both worlds would be-unique international items alongside Canadian creativity! That was how Midori Gifts came about--we now carry thousands of unique gift products with an emphasis on cuteness which you can't get anywhere else locally. I want locals and visitors to know they will find something new each visit especially if their tastes change as frequently as mine do. As a local entrepreneur and event manager, I hope to further contribute to the continued success of the downtown Kingston business community. My skills include strong organizational abilities in supporting exciting events. I have extensive experience with international import and export procedures and working with international businesses. As a small business owner who has occupied various Princess Street locations, I believe that my experience and roots within the community will enable me to effectively advocate for member concerns. It is truly my greatest hope to involve many downtown business and community members who usually don't participate in DBIA events. If elected I would work hard to get those members to get involved and experience all that the DBIA has to offer! How do you feel about the Tannery project? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ How do you feel about a Conference Centre/North Blocks development? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ How do you feel about investment in community spaces? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ How do you feel about walkability living? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
