Garbage Bin Labels
Garbage bins are becoming popular targets to use as carry-alls (picture above). To prevent your bins from being taken/ to identify yours if it goes missing, we suggest businesses mark/label their bins with permanent marker or stickers.
As leaves begin to turn and kids head back to school, it can only mean one thing… the pumpkins are coming!
The fan-favourite Pumpkinferno event at the historic Fort Henry in Kingston will attract locals and tourists alike. We'd like to invite those visitors into the downtown core. We're seeking out restaurants who are interested in adding themed menu items to their offerings during the same period, between September 30-October 31st, so that we can promote our downtown restaurants while promoting Pumpkinferno. Plus we're selfishly hoping to sample as many pumpkin soups as possible...

August’s Limestone City Blues Festival was another wonderfully successful event, filling the downtown core with music fans, locals and visitors alike. Our pedestrian counter may only provide a look at the one street corner where it’s located, but it shows a clear trend over the summer- that event weekends generated an approximate 40% boost in pedestrian traffic compared to non-event summer weekends.
Our purpose is to foster an environment in which businesses can find success. Producing events that deliver potential customers to our downtown is one way we’re pursuing that goal.

We’re just a few short weeks away from the return of one of Kingston’s most vibrant events! Kingston WritersFest begins on Wednesday September 28th, and continues through Sunday, October 2nd. This year’s festival will welcome an audience of 6,000 to more than 50 events, featuring 70 authors- all happening just steps from your business in Downtown Kingston!
Looking to get involved? Festival staff are still searching out a few odds and ends to make this year’s event perfect, and they’d love a little help from the downtown business community. There are lots of promotional opportunities available. Watch for an email from us later this week with more information on how you can be a part of Kingston WritersFest!
Our final Movies in the Square for 2022 was our biggest ever!
We went out with a BANG! On September 1st, hundreds of people packed Springer Market Square for the screening of Encanto. Knowing the film itself would be a huge draw, we decided to add to the festivities with brightly decorated selfie stations featuring characters from the beloved film and a pre-screening Latin dance party!
Special thanks to our generous friends in the Latin and dance communities for your enthusiasm, energy, and amazing skills. You inspired so many people to get up, move, laugh, cheer and come together. It was a truly heart-warming night in downtown Kingston, and we’re already anticipating next summer’s Movies in the Square!
