An accomplished Marketing & Communications expert with a proven track record of success in brand management and revitalization projects. Her innovative approach and dedication have been pivotal in the revitalization and rebranding of both Belleville's and Kingston's Downtown BIAs.
Driven by a belief in the power of joy, Marijo consistently brings innovation and vitality to every project she undertakes, making a significant impact in her field.

Jan MacDonald | Director of Events

Now Director of Events, Jan began work at Downtown Kingston in the fall of 2004 as the organizer of the first Nighttime Santa Parade. A six-week contract turned into a few months as work began on the first Feb Fest and she has never left. Her responsibilities at DK! include Artistic Director of Feb Fest, Kingston Buskers Rendezvous and Limestone City Blues Festival as well as leading many other events and programs including the annual holiday pewter collection and local food Chef Demos.

Pete Gillespie | Director of Business Development and Communications

Pete Gillespie is our Director of Business Development of and Communications. Pete is focused on marketing and communications across all channels and mediums. Pete has 14 years of experience working in marketing, communications, corporate relations, and business development, both in private media and the public sector. He is a passionate supporter of small businesses and is always eager to discuss Marcom's strategy.

Sandi Griffiths | Events Manager

A seasoned communications professional, Sandi began her career in radio advertising, writing and voicing ads. Her strong writing skills led her to work as a communications specialist for a production builder in Calgary, before she returned to her hometown of Kingston to take on the events world. With a degree in English from Queen's University and an advanced diploma in public relations from Algonquin College, Sandi brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role. Her passion for creating memorable moments for locals and visitors has made her a valuable asset to the BIA.

 

Faith Casselman | Marketing & Communications Production Manager

Faith has an Advanced Diploma in Marketing Communications and has been working in the industry for 8 years, helping brands tell their story through creative digital marketing strategies. Previous to her Marketing Communications and Production Manager role at Downtown Kingston, Faith owned and operated a content marketing agency where she worked with 50+ brands from around the globe.

Sierra Saikaley | Content Producer

Sierra Saikeley began in 2021 as a summer Marketing Intern and has since been hired full-time as the Marketing and Communications Coordinator upon her recent graduation from St. Lawrence College.  Sierra is working to bring new strategies & creative ideas to the BIA's marketing & communications department to support our small & medium businesses.

Nayeli began working with Downtown Kingston in the summer of 2022 as a summer events assistant, bringing her creativity, passion, and energy to the events team. With more than 6 years of experience in event planning, organizational development, and corporate communications at Lexmark International of Mexico, Nayeli relocated to Kingston during the COVID-19 pandemic to pursue her dream of a career in marketing. She completed her diploma in Advertising and Marketing Communications at St. Lawrence College in 2023.   

Nayeli is very interested photo and video editing and excels at making video content to share of social media, showing what a unique and wonderful place downtown Kingston is. She is full of wonderful ideas and was at the forefront of such successes as the the first Latin dance party in the summer of 2022 and the launch of the organizations blog.

Angela, our Office Administrator has previous experience working directly with the public and B2B as the first point of contact. A Scarberian at heart, bringing big-town ideas, energy, and enthusiasm to Downtown Kingston and the businesses surrounding the downtown core is what makes her happy.

 

 

Josh Morgan

Josh Morgan | Welcoming Streets Steward, Kingston Street Outreach

Josh Morgan was born and raised in the Kingston area and has been involved with numerous social service and harm reduction-influenced agencies over the past 10 years. Through his work as a Justice Youth Worker at St. Lawrence Youth Association and as an Overdose Prevention Support Worker in the Consumption and Treatment Services site at the Integrated Care Hub with Kingston Community Health Centers, his insight into varying societal issues has given him the opportunity to assist clients with their individual healing processes.
