Downtown Kingston BIA bids farewell to longtime  contributor Michèle Langlois

Michele Langlois Downtown Kingston BIA COOMichèle Langlois, a pivotal contributor to Downtown Kingston BIA's success, is hanging up her hat after three decades of service to the organization.  

Langlois began her career with Downtown Kingston BIA in 1995. Demonstrating a creative spirit and deep passion for fostering a thriving downtown community, her innovative initiatives, gentle nature and collaborative approach have left an indelible mark on the organization and the local business community. 

During her tenure, Langlois spearheaded numerous projects that contributed to revitalizing the downtown area, including the Limestone City Blues Festival, Kingston Buskers Rendezvous, Febfest, the live stream Tragically Hip final concert in Springer Market Square to name a few. Her commitment to creating a welcoming and vibrant downtown environment has not only enhanced the business landscape but has also enriched the overall community experience for residents and visitors alike. 

"Michèle Langlois has been the driving force behind Downtown Kingston BIA for the past three decades. Her leadership, dedication, and tireless efforts have been instrumental in shaping our organization and fostering a strong sense of community in downtown Kingston," said Ed Smith, past BIA Board of Management Chair and property owner in downtown Kingston. 

Langlois's retirement marks the end of an era, and her departure will undoubtedly leave a void within the organization. However, her legacy will endure through the positive impact she has had on downtown Kingston and the lasting relationships she has built with local businesses, community partners, and stakeholders. 

"I personally want to extend thanks to Michèle for all that she has contributed over the years, and particularly during the past 2 and a half years as we underwent a significant transition. Her leadership, guidance, deep understanding of the organization and its mission during this time were instrumental in helping us navigate the changes and emerge stronger and more resilient. It has been a privilege to work alongside her, and we will always be grateful for the impact she has had on the organization. Her legacy will be felt for years to come. We wish her a well-deserved retirement filled with joy and new adventures," added Marijo Cuerrier Executive Director of Downtown Kingston BIA.
