Meet Our New Downtown Foot Patrol Officer

Members NEWSLETTER PIC (2160 x 1080px) - new website (39)You may be familiar with Constable Anthony Colangeli on the right, but have you met our new officer dedicated to patrolling the Downtown BIA? The BIA is working in collaboration with Kingston Police on a one-year Downtown Foot Patrol Pilot Program to help reduce crime, and response times. Please take time to welcome Constable Brayden Langille to the downtown core when you see him. He will be visiting businesses as a part of his rounds.

How to get in touch

For crime-related incidents please continue to call the Kingston Police using 911 for emergencies or the administration line for non-emergencies 613-549-4660 ext 2244. Dispatch will redirect downtown calls to Brayden and Anthony who will respond if they are able. If they are not available another officer will be deployed to the scene. Constable Langille works primarily in the daytime from Tuesday to Saturday. Anthony is supplemental support and is down here when he can be.

The pilot project, which began in late May has already demonstrated a notable impact on the community by improving response times to police calls and effectively diffusing potentially hazardous situations. Additionally, the initiative has also had a positive effect on other criminal activities, such as apprehending individuals with outstanding arrest warrants or those wanted by the police for other offences.
