OBJECTIVE ONE:
Diversify service offerings to meet the current and evolving needs of the community.
Objective 1: Expand and enhance the outreach team by hiring multidisciplinary professionals and extending service hours to provide comprehensive, seven-day-a-week support from 8am to 11pm.
Objective 2: Develop and implement robust data management systems and feedback mechanisms.
Objective 3: Design and execute a comprehensive donation campaign that engages community members to secure both monetary contributions and essential outreach supplies, thereby ensuring the continuous improvement of outreach services and resources.
Objective 4: Acquire and optimize essential resources, including the development of policies and procedures, and the procurement of a larger, centralized office space to accommodate Welcoming Streets team growth, fostering enhanced collaboration among ‘Boots on the Ground’ and other partnerships and committees.
OBJECTIVE TWO:
Engage with partners and service providers to advocate for the development and implementation of enhanced services tailored to the community's dynamic needs.
Objective 1: Collaborate with local service providers to establish an efficient transportation system within Kingston’s social service community, ensuring vulnerable individuals have improved access to essential medical, mental health care, and essential needs services while reducing existing barriers to care.
Objective 2: Coordinate and implement recurring service fairs in downtown Kingston, which bring together various organizations and resources, including medical, mental health, housing, meal programs, and ID services, to create a one-stop-shop for vulnerable individuals seeking assistance and to promote stronger connections between clients and support providers.
Objective 3: Develop and introduce a comprehensive referral network that integrates all key service providers and establishes clear protocols for client care, ensuring streamlined access to necessary resources and facilitating effective communication and collaboration among participating organizations.
Objective 4: Work closely with community partners to design and deliver client-focused programming, emphasizing direct support, skill-building opportunities, social inclusion, and promoting personal growth and development for vulnerable individuals in downtown Kingston.
OBJECTIVE THREE:
Develop and implement targeted outreach and education initiatives to raise social awareness on key issues affecting the community and promote positive change.
Objective 1: Create and execute a comprehensive social media campaign to establish a strong online presence, raise awareness about key issues affecting the community, foster positive change, and engage community members in meaningful conversations through targeted outreach and educational content.
Objective 2: Design and execute a multi-faceted social awareness campaign that leverages the power of social media platforms and in-person community interventions to promote understanding, empathy, and positive change, fostering a sense of unity and collective responsibility.
Objective 3: Launch and maintain a compelling podcast series that fosters engaging discussions with experts and individuals from the social services sector, as well as those with lived experiences, in order to raise awareness on key issues impacting the community, promote positive change, and encourage a broader understanding of diverse perspectives.
OBJECTIVE FOUR:
Identify, design, and deliver tailored programming and training resources.
Objective 1: Develop and deliver a variety of trainings, programs and resources to educate and provide support to local businesses.
Objective 2: Implement in-house safety planning and Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED) training opportunities for BIA members.
Objective 3: Design and implement a peer support initiative that harnesses the valuable insights and experiences of individuals with lived experiences to provide empathetic support, guidance, and understanding to other vulnerable persons and local business owners, thereby fostering a sense of community, mutual understanding, and inclusivity within Kingston's downtown core.
