Kingston Police Services

Downtown Kingston has officers dedicated to patrolling the Downtown core helping to reduce crime, and response times. For crime-related incidents please continue to call the Kingston Police using 911 for emergencies or the administration line for non-emergencies 613-549-4660 ext 2244. Dispatch will redirect downtown calls to the dedicated officer on duty who will respond if they are able. If they are not available another officer will be deployed to the scene.

Dedicated foot patrol began as a pilot program in 2024 jointly funded by Kingston Police and private funders and demonstrated a notable impact on the community by improving response times to police calls and effectively diffusing potentially hazardous situations. Additionally, the initiative also had a positive effect on other criminal activities, such as apprehending individuals with outstanding arrest warrants or those wanted by the police for other offences.
