Our members - 700 business and property owners within the geographic boundaries of Downtown Kingston BIA - contribute to a bustling, walkable hub weaving a rich tapestry of experiences, inviting residents and visitors to explore the best of culture, cuisine, commerce, and community spirit.

Established in 1973 Downtown Kingston BIA is one of the oldest and largest BIA’s in Ontario, covering over 6,000,000 square feet of physical space.

We are a not-for-profit organization, supported in part by our members. Board meetings take place on the third Wednesday of every month at 6:00 pm. Downtown Kingston business and property owners are always welcome. Click to view Board of Management.

There are nearly 800 on-street spaces in the BIA boundary and nearly 1300 spaces in the surrounding public lots. City of Kingston lots and privately owned lots also offer monthly parking at reasonable rates within the downtown core area.
Parking in general is a touchy subject in any downtown. Downtown Kingston is no exception. Parking for people who work downtown is a necessary part of running a business in the core. Award of Excellence – Waawaateg: Northern Lights Interactive Light and Sound Experience: a partnership with the local Indigenous community, captivated audiences through Indigenous story, art, and language and contributed to the cultural vibrancy of the downtown core.
